ICYMI: Updates from the 9/20 Meeting

Arizona – The AZPP did not meet quorum during their last meeting, nor were there Outreach or Committee meetings, but did have discussions about the next steps moving forward. The Campaign Rally for Blase didn’t meet expectations but still went off without a hitch; Blase gave a speech and lessons were learned coming away from the experiment.

Soon the AZ Outreach Committee will get the ball rolling again with events planned for Phoenix, and one event currently slated for the outside of Oro Public Library.

 Conference Committee – Committee did not meet.

Florida – Nothing to report.

Illinois – The Midlothian, IL Village Board of Trustees campaign continues with signatures collecting, which hit a snag with weather issues but will continue in earnest.

 IT Committee – Committee did not meet.

Indiana – No representative in attendance, nothing to report.

Maryland – No representative in attendance, nothing to report.

Massachusetts – The Mass Pirates have camera mapping events coming up and a Hack-a-thon and crypto party event happening on October 25th.

Ohio – The next OHPP meeting will be Oct. 1st at 5:30pmET, which will coincide with the release of the latest Ohio Pirate Party newsletter.

Outreach Committee – Committee did not meet.

Pennsylvania – No representative in attendance, nothing to report.

 Pirate National Committee – Meeting minutes from the 9.13 meeting were approved by the board and are available here.

Platform – “Bodily Autonomy” has been added to the platform as of Sunday’s meeting, passing after a 4-0 vote (Illinois abstained).

 Platform Committee – Platform is exploring housing and environmental planks, especially “Clean Air.”

Treasurer – Our treasurer has been summoned by the PNC to appear at the 9.27 meeting and report any and all updates regarding financials.

United States Transhumanist Party – Our friends and coalition partners, the U.S. Transhumanist Party, joined us last night for a discussion about the future and status of our coalition, All Hands for a Free Future. After a long discussion, clearing the air of concerns and allowing all to speak their minds, decisions were made to move forward forming a Coalition Council and to have the USTP back on Oct. 25th to discuss updates on the coaliton.
