All the news you might have missed from the 9.13 meeting

ICYMI: Updates from the 9/13 Meeting

ICYMI

Arizona – The AZPP didn’t host a weekly meeting; it was canceled in preparation for the Phoenix event. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, the event for Phoenix will have to be scheduled for another time. Arizona had a rally in a local park yesterday, offering meet and greets, pamphlets, and a speech from AZPP Capt. and USPP Vice Capt. Blase Henry. Next in-person meeting is Wednesday 9/16.

 Florida – Nothing to report.

Illinois – Nothing reported at the meeting. Signature collection for the Midlothian Village Board of Trustees race began in earnest on Wednesday.

Indiana – Absent from meeting, nothing to report.

IT – No meeting this week, nothing to report.

Maryland – A planned meeting was cancelled. MDPP Capt. and USPP Auditor Joel Lightfoot has spoken with members for feedback for the MDPP platform. Members will be going to a pirate themed event locally to hand out literature.

Massachusetts – Massachusetts is holding a crypto party in the next few weeks with a Hack-a-thon, as well as doing a future camera mapping event, in the coming future. The MAPP will be putting out a poll for their next state conference and sending it to all MAPP members. They are working on voter outreach and putting out videos to keep up their momentum.

Ohio – the OHPP set future meeting dates/times; the plan is to meet on the first Thursday of the month at 5:30PM ET.

Outreach – No meeting this week. Outreach will meet again Sept 17th.

Pennsylvania – the PAPP is looking to have a re-organization meeting in the near future. Anyone in PA is encouraged to reach out on Discord in the Pennsylvania channel to connect to get this meeting to happen.

Pirate National Committee – Meeting minutes from the August 30th meeting have been approved.

 Pirate National Conference – The location of the 2027 Conference has been voted on. With four votes for Mobile, Alabama to three votes for Baltimore, Mobile has been selected as the host location in 2027.

Platform – the Platform Committee has been working on a bodily autonomy plank, and has looked at native relations. As always, people are encouraged to attend.

 PR Director – After a unanimous vote, Elliot Smith of Maine has been elected as new PR Director. Elliot fills the vacancy left from the Sept. 1st resignation of our previous PR Director.
