ICYMI
Arizona – The following was provided to PNC by AZPP Blase Henry via Arizona’s representation last night:
• Outreach & Committee Updates: Nothing to report besides No Kings Day.
• No Kings Day Recap: We recapped our tabling experience at No King’s Day. Our successes, our struggles, what to do and not to do next time. We did hand out much of our pamphlets, recruited at least one pirate, safe to say we had a successful day.
• County Pirate Party push for 27-28: The goal for this year was to expand our party across the state in order to mount an effort to get the Pirate Party on the ballot across the state of Arizona. We have failed to meet our goals and any effort for us to try and get on the ballot statewide would prove wasteful. However, we can get onto the ballot for Pima County as the requirements are much lower with 8004+ signatures instead of 34000+ and the majority of Arizona Pirates are in Pima County. It can be done. That said, a Pima County Pirate Party needs to be formed first which means a Pima County Captain. If anyone is interested, please dm any of the council board members including myself and we will figure out a standard election soon!
• Council Board Eligibility Bylaws Change Revisit: We did add a new part to the AZPP bylaws addressing Council Board Eligibility. You can find the most recent AZPP bylaws in the resources channel.
• Plunder Hunger Update: We gave an update to Plunder Hunger. We hopefully will soon have places for our food drive boxes to have but are still looking for any local businesses who would be interested in hosting one of our food drive boxes.
• Adding a more extensive Pro-LGBTQ+ section to the platform: A proposal was made to add a more extensive Pro-LGBTQ+ section to the platform as much of it is lacking so we are brainstorming ideas for the platform this week and bring it back on Wednesday to properly discuss the potential platform.
Conference Committee – Did not meet.
Florida – Nothing to report.
Illinois – Signature collection is winding down and the ILPP will be notarizing and submitting signatures shortly. The ILPP will announce whether or not we shall see a Pirate on the ballot for the Midlothian, IL Village Board of Trustees election in April.
Indiana – Nothing to report.
IT Committee – Did not meet.
Maryland – Nothing to report.
Massachusetts – Nothing to report.
North Carolina – Growth has been the theme of the NCPP as their chapter continues to meet and grow. There is an expectation that the NC Pirate Party may soon become the next member state of the PNC.
Ohio – Nothing to report.
Outreach Committee – Did not meet.
Pennsylvania – Following the change of Pennsylvania from Active PNC member to Observer status, there will be a meeting, open to all interested from Pennsylvania, with the intended goal of having this change in Pennsylvania’s status to go from Observer, back to Active.
Platform Committee – Platform did have a plank for introduction to the PNC, however, quorum was lost before business could proceed and thus the introduction of the plank will be pushed back until the 11/1 meeting.
That’s all! Meeting was cut short to the drop on quorum, but you can still see who showed up and what was discussed here.
