The following was a letter submitted by an anonymous Pirate supporter using the pseudonym “Al Noneemus”, written in promotion United States Pirate Party and on the issue of the duopoly. This article is apart of the project “Message in a Bottle”, allowing supporters of the US Pirate Party to submit editorial articles to the United States Pirate Party website.
Coke, Pepsi, Rc Cola. All fine beverages.
Yet, when you go to a restaurant, you cannot order one of them. You are told you must choose between Coke or Pepsi. The two powerful soda companies have made the conditions such that they control your options.
Democrats and Republicans… control the elections in much the same way. The suggestion is that it is an either or choice, you must choose one of the preferred two.
What if, you want something else? What if you do not like Coke, or Pepsi?
What if, the slogan for RC Cola fits? – “What is good enough for other folks, ain’t good enough for me and my RC!”
So, that is my challenge to you: Try it. Try ordering RC when you order food.
This is the same challenge in elections, and everybody can see and experience asking for another option.
The powers that be say “You may have this, that, or nothing!” Well, last election, 80% of the people wanted something else on the menu.
It is time for RC. It is time for other parties to be included in the debates.
Try it… ask for RC 🙂 A pirate you might be 🙂
